National Minimum Wage 2026: R30.23 per hour
From 1 March 2026 the National Minimum Wage is R30.23 per ordinary hour worked.
The National Minimum Wage increased from R28.79 to R30.23 per ordinary hour, effective 1 March 2026.
It applies to farm workers and domestic workers too. Learners on learnerships and workers on public works programmes have separate rates.
An employer may not reduce other benefits to pay for the increase.
